Paroles
When the French were in the country they camped in Triesen by the Rhein and
from there they came up to the upper village and stole the cattle
But in particular they were interested in the wine they retrieved from the
cellars and poured into wash buckets so full that is splashed out from both

door

Quand les Français étaient dans le pays ils campèrent à Triesen par le Rhein et
de là ils sont montés au village supérieur et ont volé le bétail
Mais en particulier ils étaient intéressés par le vin qu'ils ont récupéré de la
caves et versé dans des seaux de lavage si plein qui est éclaboussé à la fois
côté
Quand ils ont ramené la charge à leur camp dans une maison une vieille femme avait
caché ses affaires dans la cave et érigé un tas de bois devant le
porte
Les soldats découvrirent cependant le secret envahirent la Cave la ravirent et
saoulés dans le délire
La fermière est venue sur eux et a supplié qu'ils partiraient au moins pour
elle un petit tonneau avec du vieux vin
Un fantassin a frappé le bouchon du canon de sorte que le vin a jailli sur
le sol et il hurla en allemand cassé:
Oui bonne dame-après tout, il est la guerre…
