He saw a hound dog shivering in the snow
The path did stretch and wind
As the hound dog tagged behind
So on the way to home the two did go
The young boy and the hound
Took the blessing that they’d found

The hound would always wait
At the rusty old school gate
For his pal to finish up the day
Till one day the boy did find
