Paroles
On the 24th of May 1863, Professor Lindenbrook and his nephew Axel discovered
an old parchment within
a 12th century volume entitled «Heims Kringa», itself a chronicle of the
Norwegian Princes who had ruled over
Iceland.
Written in runic manuscript by Arne Saknussemm (an alchemist of the 16th
century) it translated:
…"Descent into the crater of Sneffels Yokul, over which the shadow of
Scataris falls before the kalends of
July, bold traveller, and you will reach the center of the earth."
Two centuries forward from this discovery, three geologian explorers traversed
land and sea before they
reached the mass of volcanic tufa known as Iceland. Veiled in secrecy,
their purpose: — to emulate the journey
that had been taken by their forefathers two hundred years previous.
For fear of beeing followed, their identities were known to no-one,
and for this reason, as they began their
ascent through vast fields of ice toward the magnificent snowy nightcap of the
Sneffels volcano, their
expectations became inexplicably interwined with those of unease,
as they prepared to challenge timeless
history.
On reaching the tabletop summit, they slowly descended onto the crater of
Sneffels Yokul …
… And so began: -«The Return To The Centre Of The Earth».
Traduction des paroles
Le 24 mai 1863, le professeur Lindenbrook et son neveu Axel découvrirent
un vieux parchemin à l'intérieur
un volume du 12ème siècle intitulé "Heims Kringa", lui-même une chronique de la
Princes norvégiens qui avaient régné sur
Islande.
Écrit en Manuscrit runique par Arne Saknussemm (un alchimiste du 16ème
siècle), traduit:
... "Descente dans le cratère de Sneffels Yokul, sur lequel l'ombre de
Scataris tombe avant les kalends de
Juillet, voyageur audacieux, et vous atteindrez le centre de la terre."
Deux siècles avant cette découverte, trois explorateurs géologiens traversèrent
terre et mer avant eux
atteint la masse de tuf volcanique connue sous le nom D'Islande. Voilée dans le secret,
leur but — - imiter le voyage
cela avait été pris par leurs ancêtres deux cents ans auparavant.
De peur d'être suivis, leur identité n'était connue de personne,
et pour cette raison, comme ils ont commencé leur
ascension à travers de vastes champs de glace vers le magnifique bonnet de nuit enneigé
Volcan Sneffels, leur
les attentes sont devenues inexplicablement entrelacées avec celles du malaise,
comme ils se sont préparés à défier intemporel
histoire.
En atteignant le sommet de la table, ils descendirent lentement sur le cratère de
Sneffels Yokul …
