Paroles
The next morning Oblio noticed that the rock under which they had slept was in
the shape of a giant pointing hand and there was an enscryption on its side
which read destination point. So they set off in the direction indicated by the
hand and before long they found themselves on a road which led them out of the
pointless forest and on and on through the pointed hills and valleys until
finally they paused and in the distance they could see the spires and the
steeples of the land of point. Now when the townspeople heard that Oblio and
Arrow had returned they ran out to the edge of town to give them a heroes
welcome for you see not only were the people glad to see them, Oblio and Arrow
were the first to have ever been to the pointless forest
When word of Oblios return had reached the count he was so mad he ran to the
court yard and he grabbed Oblio and he said…
«What are you doing here? You were banished to the pointless forest!»
And Oblio said «But we went to the pointless forest and not only that but its
not pointless at all.»
«What?!?» there was a huge gasp from the crowd
«Nonsense!» said the count. «You're in trouble!»
And just then the king arrived and he said «Not so fast count. What do you mean
'not pointless' Oblio?»
And Oblio said «Well, it’s just that we did go to the pointless forest and it’s
not pointless at all. Infact the trees pointed…»
«Nooo!» from the crowd
«…and the leaves on all the branches pointed…»
«Noooo!» from the crowd
«…infact even the branches pointed and not only that but everyone we met in
the entire pointless forest had a point and it’s just that, well it’s just like
here and we figured since that everything has a point, then i must have one too.
Just then someone in the crowd yelled out «He's got a point there!»
…and at that point the bell sounded in the pointed steeple and all the points
on the tops of all the buildings in the whole land of point began to melt and
at that point the points on the tops of the heads of all the people in the
whole land of point began to melt. All that is except for the counts,
his just sort of flapped over on its side and he split, presumably for the
pointless forest. But before he did he reached over and he grabbed Oblio and he
pulled off his cap and ya know what? There on the top of Oblios head was a
point
Well that’s about it. Oblio went on to start up a punk band called We Dunno (You
mighta heard of them). That’s the end of the story so thank you and good night

Le lendemain matin Oblio remarqua que le rocher sous lequel ils avaient dormi était dans
la forme d'une main géante pointant et il y avait un enscryption sur son côté
qui a lu le point de destination. Alors ils sont partis dans la direction indiquée par le
main et avant longtemps ils se sont retrouvés sur une route qui les a conduits hors de la
forêt inutile et encore et encore à travers les collines et les vallées pointues jusqu'à
finalement ils s'arrêtèrent et au loin ils purent voir les flèches et le
clochers du pays de point. Maintenant, quand les habitants ont entendu que Oblio et
Arrow était revenu ils ont couru au bord de la ville pour leur donner un héros
bienvenue pour vous voyez non seulement les gens étaient heureux de les voir, Oblio et Arrow
ont été les premiers à avoir jamais été à l'inutile forêt
Quand la nouvelle du retour D'Oblios avait atteint le comte il était tellement fou qu'il courut vers le
cour et il a attrapé Oblio et il a dit…
«Que fais-tu ici? Vous avez été banni dans la forêt inutile!»
Et Oblio a dit: "Mais nous sommes allés à la forêt inutile et pas seulement cela, mais son
pas inutile du tout.»
"Quoi?!?» il y avait un énorme souffle de la foule
"Non-sens!» dit le comte. «Vous êtes en difficulté!»
Et juste alors le Roi est arrivé et il a dit " pas si vite Compter. Que voulez-vous dire
'pas inutile' Oblio?»
Et Oblio a dit: "Eh bien, c'est juste que nous sommes allés à la forêt inutile et c'est
pas inutile du tout. En fait les arbres pointus…»
«Nooon!» de la foule
«...et les feuilles sur les branches pointues…»
«Noooon!» de la foule
"...en fait, même les branches pointées et pas seulement cela, mais tous ceux que nous avons rencontrés
toute la forêt inutile avait un point et c'est juste que, eh bien, c'est juste comme
ici et nous avons pensé que puisque tout a un point, alors je dois en avoir un aussi.
Il suffit alors de quelqu'un dans la foule a crié «Il a un point là!»
